How to get more sleep and be more successful
Too busy to get a good night’s sleep? Wish you knew how to get 6-8 hours of sleep every night? In my short video this week, I share with you how to get more sleep and be more successful-it’s not as much of a pipe dream as you think!
It has become a lost art to be able to go to bed and actually get 6-8 hours of uninterrupted reenergizing sleep. By taking our devices to bed with us (c’mon, do you use your phone as your alarm clock?) we have traded sleep for backlit screens and binge watching. Studies have proven we all need regular, routine, uninterrupted sleep to re-charge our minds as well as our bodies. It has long been the voice of wisdom and practical common sense to only do two things in the bedroom: sleep and have sex. Why has that philosophy changed simply because of technology?
The ease in which we take our laptop, phone, iPad or Kindle to bed has become so routine we don’t factor them into the equation of our sleep deficit. Sleep is now the commodity we wish we all want more of. Yet we have the control to get more of it! Everyone has 24 hours in the day- and the choice is ours as to how we spend those 24 hours.
If you want my strategy for getting into a good sleep routine- watch this video. You have more control over your evenings and the time allotted to sleep than you think. If you really want to get more sleep, my advice works. It’s an entirely different video for me to help you figure out how to turn off your devices and not answer emails- for work or home-after 9pm at night. Yes, I have made that video before and I am filming an update for you to have in your In Boxes next week. That is, if you are a subscriber. If you are not a subscriber- you can simply search my website for it, or my youtube channel.
How does sleeping relate to success? People who are well rested simply function better. People who are well rested vs those who are sleep deprived make better decisions because they have a stronger cognitive ability to process what they are doing. We have all been sleep deprived and know all too well what it feels like to be emotionally, physically and mentally exhausted. We get decision fatigue. We get crabby. We make poor decisions. Or we don’t make any decisions.
Regardless of your age, career, business, title or responsibilities – you can get more sleep. I promise.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I would love to hear from you.
Make it a great week!
