Your honest success story makes us all smarter and stronger

Did you know most people feel more depressed after they have looked at social media? With our 24/7 access and connectivity to everyone, we naturally begin to compare what our life looks like relative to everyone else we see on social media.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if we felt empowered every time we jumped off social media? Wouldn't it be great if we felt smarter and stronger from looking at other people's photos and posts? If more people would share the truth about how they got to that exact point where they are taking that gorgeous photo or posting that awesome humblebrag success story—we could all learn from each other. Think about that for a minute.

"What do we live for;  if not it is not to make life less difficult for each other? " George Eliot (aka Mary Anne Evans)

Sometimes we can feel "terminally unique" in our own circumstances, as if no one else could possibly be struggling with the same set of unfortunate circumstances. Instead of feeling like you are alone with no solution or no support, would it not be empowering, encouraging and actually the most important, simply comforting, to know you were not alone?  Let us all give it a whirl this week and try our best to tell the story behind our fabulous news or our pretty photo. If you knew it would make one person's entire day better, you would do it. What if you could make 100 people feel smarter and stronger if they know how you dealt with adversity to get where you are?

When we hear others tell us the truth behind their success stories we become

Smarter-educated from a new perspective

Stronger- empowered by shared knowledge

More empathetic- understanding success didn't come easy

When we share our true stories of how we made our successes happen, it strengthens our entire community in a testament to collaboration and support. Instead of comparison and competition. If each of us starts telling the truth about how we got TO any of our successes, we all become smarter and stronger from learning how we overcame adversity to succeed.

That is how your honest success story makes us all smarter and stronger.
